Beyond Campus Walls: Gulf University Celebrates Creativity at the Students’ Desert Camp

Gulf University celebrated its students through a desert trip titled “Creative Students’ Camp,” in a gesture of appreciation reflecting its commitment to supporting student volunteerism, by organizing a comprehensive recreational event in a desert campsite that honored outstanding students while bringing others together in an atmosphere of closeness and connection beyond campus grounds. The camp program included a range of recreational activities along with sports and mental games that ignited a spirit of fair competition among students, in addition to barbecue gatherings and student sessions accompanied by songs reflecting collective spirit and authentic Gulf identity. On this occasion, the Chairperson of the Board of Directors and Trustees of Gulf University, Prof. Dr. Mona bint Rashid Al-Zayani, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in shaping students’ personalities, noting that the event strengthens students’ sense of belonging and affirms the deep relationship between the student and the university, as the institution builds not only minds but also a spirit of loyalty and pride.

Meanwhile, Head of Student Services Unit, Abdulla Emad, elaborated that the camp was organized as a well-deserved token of appreciation for creative and active students in recognition of their contributions to various university events and programs held recently, notably the Bahrain International Exhibition (Maraee 2025), GU Sustainability Week, Russian Cultural Days Week, and Bahraini National Day.

In the same context, the President of the GU Student Council, Riyadh Khadem, expressed his pride towards the initiative, stating that the camp represents recognition of all student efforts and motivates them to demonstrate creativity and teamwork. The highlight of the event featured honoring of outstanding students with certificates of appreciation and gifts of gratitude by Prof. Dr. Al-Zayani and Prof. Dr. Mohanad AlFiras, President of Gulf University, in recognition of their exceptional efforts and academic excellence and in support of their journey in innovation and volunteer work serving both academic and community aspirations, and the trip concluded with a collective segment in which students expressed their satisfaction with the initiative, praising the quality of organization and the balanced program that successfully combined recreation and recognition.
